Great performance for Scuderia50 Altair3, finished 2nd in ORC Class 2

The  boat set the speed record of 23,7 knots sailing downwind!

Finish line crossed!

It’s been a wonderful regatta, complete and rich in different situation, from the exhausting flat calm in the Eolie to the rainstorms in the leg Egadi-Lampedusa.

Beautiful and tiring, 600 nautical miles in which Altair3 crew did their best exploiting to the most their energies in order to be fighting and aggressive until the last tack to cross the finish line in front of  Yacht Club Malta, in the beautiful natural harbour of La Valletta.

I feel like saying that Altair3 did excellent races in the such conditions, the boat was always fast and always among the first to get the fresh wind.

The crew was at the top, giving Altair3 the possibility to exploit all its potential. The single regret is having seen both fleet, preceding and following our, racing without having to tack, as we did, between Stromboli and Egadi and between Pantelleria and Lampedusa! Many more miles due to the unlucky synchronization with weather playing up.

Anyway we really did our best, in a very serene environment but also with the fair competitive spirit which features such a team.

It was my first time on board, and Altair3 gave me the strong impression of a fast and reliable boat!

All the best to you all

Francesco
